Everyone wants to “have it all” — but at what cost? It is essential that you learn to balance these aspects of life in order to create harmony: spirituality, family, health, and work. How do you do this? Keep watching and reading to learn more.

1 – Plan, Plan, Plan!

Is your life dominating you? One great way to turn that around is by planning. At the beginning of every year, decide when your vacations will be and don’t let anything get in the way. Mark down important dates, like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. so you never miss out on a special event with those you love. While some things will inevitably spring up spontaneously, controlling what you can control will make those sudden schedule shifts more manageable.

 

On the flip-side, learn to be a master of your own time. Block out your schedule to make time so you can do the things you’re passionate about. Love practicing Yoga? Purchase several class passes at a local studio and sing up for classes far in advance. Challenge yourself to follow through with the things that nourish and revive you just as much as you do when it comes to work-centered activities.

2 – Honor and Stay True to your Personal Beliefs

Whether you’re Agnostic or a devout Christian, take time to ensure that you’re nurturing your personal beliefs. Don’t neglect this fundamental aspect of your life! Attending church and/or community gatherings related to your personal beliefs keeps you in touch with yourself and like-minded folks who can enrich your life greatly. Do not make choices that conflict with your code of ethics or personal values, even if such activities appear to give you a short-term “advantage”. Make no mistake, any advantage attained in this way is actually harmful to you and those around you.

3 – Prioritize your Health

If you aren’t healthy, your work and relationships will suffer. You must make time to care for your body physically. Whether you prefer evening strolls or harsh sweat sessions at the gym, find what you enjoy and be consistent in your approach. Drink water, eat a balanced diet, and ensure that you move! Consider taking a fun dance class to shake things up, or stream some workout videos on YouTube — the choice is yours, and you can’t go wrong — unless you don’t try!
